Title Measuring Journalistic Quality: information and its public Summary This study tends to measure the informative quality in the production and in the costumers of news. The standards for the measurement of informative quality are critics of the daily work of the journalist: gather evidence, report, transmit and edit information. The parameters of measurement come together in two instruments which evaluate the different phases of the journalism process(process of selection and process of creation). These instruments was applied to the two most important newspapers of national circulation in Argentina and to his readers. The study contemplated: a) the revision of 1340 units of news grouped in 238 units of registry and b) 300 interview to newspapers readers sample. The comparison between interests of the public and the transmission of news from de media shows the journalism gap quality.
