Welcome to Doxa

Doxa Comunicación wants to be an effective and exclusive channel to theoretical, conceptual and cognitive exchange between researchers in Sciences of Communication field. With this aim, we have taken strict rules following the guidelines of scientific publications that have become a necessary reference among those open-minded researchers who want to be up-to-date of the unceasing work of conceptual exchange and renewal of knowledge through the spreading of researching studies. Doxa Comunicación is open to all interested readers in order they to find a meeting point, informative reference and scientific dissemination.

Doxa Comunicación wants to show how CEU San Pablo University contributes to the task of innovation and diffusion of knowledge as well as the University’s attitude to develop a scientific interaction forum including professors, researchers, professionals and students.

Doxa Comunicación also wants to become a sample of rigor, neutrality, criteria, interdisciplinary and analytical dialogue in the field of those Social Sciences devoted to the study of theoretical bases and cognitive development of collective communication: Journalism, Public Opinion, Right of Information, Advertising and Audiovisual Communication.

Doxa Comunicación is a biannual, bilingual Spanish-English research and academic journal. In November 2016, Doxa Comunicación began to be published in both Spanish and English starting with issue No. 23 of the journal.

Open Access

Doxa Comunicación is a free and open access scientific journal, in accordance with the spirit of the BOAI statement: “by "open access" to this [research] literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution and the only role for copyright in this domain should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited”.

All the content of Doxa Comunicación is available immediately upon publication to be accessed and downloaded by all interested readers. Professional management of manuscripts is undertaken via the OJS platform from the Science and Technology Foundation( FECYT-RECYT. Doxa communication uses the LOCKSS and PORTICO digital archiving system.

External review

In the event that a manuscript successfully passes an external review of anonymous blind peers, (that is, the evaluator who reviews the article does not know the identity of the evaluated person (author) and the evaluated person (author) does not know the identity of the person who evaluates (evaluator) the author agrees to provide Doxa Comunicación with an English version of the text.

If the author cannot carry out the translation to English by his own means, Doxa Comunicación will provide the name and contact information of a professional translator from the list Doxa works with on a regular basis. The cost of this translation service will be assumed by the author.

Readers and Authors

Readers will be able to register in the "notification service" of OJS platform of Doxa Comunicación in RECYT, through this link. This action will allow the reader to receive the table of contents by e-mail each time a new number is published.

Authors should also register on Doxa Comunicación's OJS platform at RECYT through this link. Here they can consult the journal's policy, as well as publication rules, originals submission and the evaluation process.

No Charge

Doxa Comunicación will not charge for postulating, processing, publishing or reading articles in the magazine.
